Red Square

In the second week of term 4, Te Kakano performed at Westpac Red Square in Nelson. Keegan opened our performance with his mihi. Kai pai Keegan, you were a star. Then we followed by performing haka and waiata.

Week 4

This week in Te Kakano the juniors have been being to use poi and are learning some simple actions. The middle and senior boys have been using the taiaha and the girls the poi. We are all looking forward performaning at Red Square at the start of next term and currently are working towards that performance.

Mihi

This term in Te Kakano we are learning our mihi. We would like to to find the name of your mountain, (maunga)and your river (awa). This week we started to have a practise of a simple mihi as well as some waiata.
